The roses are turning for energy.

The importance of renewable and environmentally friendly energy is increasing day by day in the world. In recent years, investments in renewable energy sources, especially wind and solar energy, have been gaining momentum in our country. Bursa companies also make significant investments in order to use renewable energy resources efficiently.

According to the data of the Turkish Wind Energy Association, one of the three sectors with the highest growth in the last ten years in Turkey was energy. The first wind power plant in Turkey was established in Çeşme district of İzmir with a capacity of 1.5 MW. With the Renewable Energy Law No. 5346, which entered into force on May 10, 2005, and the developing technology, serious progress has been made in the field of wind energy in our country. As of 2019, 3 thousand 285 turbines have been planted in many parts of Turkey and added to the energy system. Investors and experts, who made evaluations to EKOHABER about the way to use wind energy efficiently, emphasized that Turkey's onshore and offshore wind energy potential is 118 GW and drew attention to the importance of advanced technologies and domestic production.

Wind energy, which is one of the renewable energy sources, is preferred because it is a clean, reliable and low operating cost energy type. Due to its geopolitical position in Turkey, it attaches great importance to investments in wind energy and is supported by our state. In order to increase the wind energy capacity of our country, the YEKA-1 and YEKA-2 project tenders made by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources have been completed and the process for the installation of facilities with a total capacity of 2,000 Megawatts continues. In recent years, investments in this sector have increased considerably in our country. Turkey has set a good example and a good foundation in the world in wind. Many companies are working on the production of wind turbines and different components in Turkey. Wind investments are economical. It provides significant benefits in terms of employment and taxation. Turkey has a significant potential in wind energy production.

The total installed power of Turkey is 8,288 MW, the number of wind power plants in operation is 197, the number of installed turbines is 3,351, the generation rate for the first six months of 2020 is 8.52%, the power of the power plants under construction is 2,451 MW.

Electricity generation from wind Turkey is showing an upward development day by day in the world ranking. We believe that we will rank first in the Wind Energy sector in the coming years with the interest and support of our government and our investors.

Various mechanisms have been developed in the Republic of Turkey to encourage the use of renewable energy sources. These can be grouped under three main headings:

Price-setting and quantity-obligating incentives, cost-reducing investment policies and public investments, and incentives to develop the Renewable Energy market. With these important incentives provided by our state, domestic and foreign companies in our country have increased their demands for electricity generation from renewable energy. The capacity of our country to benefit from Renewable Energy sources is increasing day by day. We are of the opinion that our country will benefit in terms of Export and Employment if incentives for Wind Turbine components are put into use by the government.

In our country, our domestic production rate in the wind turbine industry has increased significantly with the steps taken by domestic and foreign industrialists in recent years. We can cooperate with companies that have been operating in the sector for many years and have technology and experience, and we can move forward much faster in this field and attract foreign investors to our country. Our organization Barga Bayramoğlu Wind Energy Products Inc. is an example of this vision and therefore the combination of Spanish and Turkish industry. There are many examples like this in our country. With the incentives and supports to be provided to these and similar subsidiaries and to our domestic producers who make an effort to operate in the sector, our acceleration of success, our domestic production rate will increase and our costs will decrease. This will then clinch our competitive/cost advantage in the global market.
